CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - New information has been revealed in the case of a Chula Vista elementary school teacher facing child pornography and molestation charges.
News 8 has obtained search warrants that reveal how investigators believe John Kinloch lured young boys into sending him pictures online.
The first grade teacher at Wolf Canyon Elementary is facing a slew of child porn charges and is also accused of molesting one of his students - charges he's pleaded not guilty to.
According to the search warrants, Kinloch pretended to be a 14-year-old girl named Brianna. He created a profile on a social networking site, meetme.com, formerly myyearbook.com.
Kinloch's alleged aim: to lure boys, like "Josh" and "Stew" both claiming to be 14-years-old, and get them to send him naked pictures of themselves.
The warrants do not specify if the teens ever actually sent any images or even responded to Kinloch.
But they do reveal how Kinloch allegedly operated by sending his unsuspecting victims messages through the site such as:
"u r really cute... Txt me 425-533-xxxx if you wanna trade pics and chat..."
The warrants also alleges Kinloch tried to persuade his online prey to use Kik Messenger, which is a free smartphone app for texting and sending pictures from virtually any location with Wi-Fi. Here's an example of one of the messages sent:
"why did you press next? I was asking if you have Kik app so we can trade nudes!"
"It's enormously easy to fake these kinds of things," explained Dennis Shaw the COO of iSafe.
Isafe helps educate kids and adults about internet safety and cautions parents to keep lines of communication open with their children.
"I think parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing online and kids need to be inviting their parents to share that experience with them," continued Shaw.
News 8 spoke with the parents of one of Kinloch's alleged online victims Tuesday, who say they were never contacted by authorities involved in this investigation.
Back in the 90s, according to published reports, Kinloch had admitted in a British court to trading child porn, but was granted immunity in exchange for his testimony.
Kinloch is currently behind bars in Chula Vista, being held on $1.9 million bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 8.
