Padres' Fernando Tatis debuts custom Tiffany & Co inspired cleats at Petco Park

The companies that partnered with El Niño on the custom cleats, Xample and Surgeon, said they will unveil 50 different designs during the 2024 season.

SAN DIEGO — San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis is opening up the 2024 season at Petco Park in style, again.

El Niño has become a style icon on the field, choosing various custom cleats to wear during games. Tatis chose a pair of Tiffany and Co.-inspired custom cleats to sport during the Padres’ series against the San Francisco Giants on Friday.

The cleats that are titled, “Tatis & Co” feature the iconic signature TIffany blue throughout the shoe in suede. The custom cleats feature a Nike swoosh that creates an effect that replicates the cuts and facets of a diamond.

The shoes feature Tatis’ jersey number and logo, and include a nod to the famous jeweler with the engraving, “Please Return to Tatis & Co.”

To honor late Padres owner Peter Seidler, Tatis wore custom cleats that featured Seidler’s image.

The companies that partnered with Tatis on the custom cleats, Xample and Surgeon, said they will unveil 50 different designs during the season.

“This season-long partnership is the first of its kind, curating and unveiling 50 custom cleats throughout the 2024 MLB season. In the sport of baseball and expanding beyond the field, the three parties come together to set a new standard and bar, speaking to innovation both on and off the field across design, sport, and culture,” the companies said in a statement.
